International Trade Night: Thinking Local, Acting Global

In honor of World Trade Month the St. Louis Regional International Partnership will be hosting
the International Trade Night on Thursday, May 13. The dinner event will feature International firms and exhibitors
representing all types of international trade facilitators including freight forwarders, banks, federal agencies, universities,
and others involved in international trade and cultural exchange.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Murray Weidenbaum.
Professor Weidenbaum is a prominent figure in business and government. He served as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury
from 1969 to 1971 and in 1981-82 as Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers. His research and teaching interests are
government regulation of business, public finance, and economic policy. He founded the Center for the Study of American Business
at Washington University and directed the Center for many years. The center was renamed in his honor to the Murray
Weidenbaum
Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy.
